1993 Chrysler LeBaron GTC convertible "Keys Car" - $1700

SOLD

This is not an ad for a $17,000 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SL 2-door roadster with the 6 liter V12. That is a beautiful car for topless sunsets in the Keys--it has soft leather seats and a Bose sound system to play your Jimmy Buffett serenades.

On the other hand, 17 grand is way too much to spend for a 15- or 16-year old Keyscar.

10% of that is a much better price.

Offered for your pleasure and enjoyment is my 1993 Chrysler LeBaron GTC convertible for $1,700. It has lovely dark green paint that complements the tan power convertible top and covers 99.8% of the body. Unlike the Mercedes' gas guzzler, this LeBaron has the sought-after (and economical) Mitsubishi 3-liter V6 and the rare and fun-to-drive 5-speed transmission. There is, of course, air conditioning, power steering, an original AM/FM Stereo with cassette player, as well as power windows, power door locks, power seat, and power cruise control. The tilt wheel is manually operated.

Topless sunsets in the Keys look just as nice from its cool cloth seats and the sound system will serenade you perfectly.

The title is clean. The paint, body, and interior have only minor blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems.

As with any 16 year old, there are a few issues. The good news is that, unlike the typical teenager, the car is not cranky first thing in the morning. It starts on the first turn of the key thanks to a new battery from Advance Auto Parts. It is free of any major defects but will need new tires next year. The V6 (like every other example of this engine) leaks a little oil--less than half a quart between changes. There is a little bubbling of the paint at the bottom of the right rear quarter panel. The paint has some parking lot scratches and some of the chrome molding is pitted. The power seat moves v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. There is a boot for the top but one latch is missing and I've never installed it.

It has driven about 131,000 average miles.

I have to sell. I now have two convertibles here and my wife says I can have only one. It's apparently a law.

The bottom line:
1993 Chrysler LeBaron GTC convertible
V6, 5-speed, air conditioning, PS, PW, PL, power seat, cruise, tilt AM/FM/Cassette
$1,700

Craigslist shows just these 4 photos, so I chose the four best, of course. All 27 images can be seen on Photobucket.
